Losing yourself to emotion.

We may be masters of our thoughts

but we are still slaves of our emotions.

We all experience unpleasant emotions. It is part of our communication with the outside world and with ourselves. It can mature obnoxious emotions into negative feelings, and then things can get serious for our physical and mental wellbeing. It happens to all of us; it is part of life and how we function. The only difference can make the level of awareness we are dealing with them.

Let's look at Envies and Regrets, for example:

The green-eyed envies can drain our energy down to zero; it narrows our perspective, we become obsessed. It makes us bitter and unkind; it depletes our liver. Envy is toxic and addictive.

Regrets trap us in the past and in the illusion that drowning in the painful guilt of what we have done somehow can compensate for mistakes we made. It is all wrong. Regrets cannot fix anything but only leak our energy and don't let us be in the present or hope for the bright future; it disables our lungs to let go of the experience. Grief and sorrow weaken our immune system and mental strength.

But all those pessimistic scenarios manifest if we indulge in Envy and Regret, allow those emotions to become us, and dissolve our will in it. Same if we will try rid of them by suppressing it or resisting it - waste of energy, cause only self-harm.

There is another way -to transform negative emotions like envy into Healing.

During the Body Talk session, a client will recognize emotion, feel it thoroughly, and dissociate.

Let it crest over you like a giant wave, and then watch it subside, leaving you unharmed.

If we learn to be an uninvolved observer of our feelings, any unpleasant negative emotion will become experience - the tool of discovering the world and ourselves.

Then we know and move on.
